Edinson Cavani to Manchester City ?

Article By Adam Scott-Allen

Edinson Cavani
Age: 26
Club: Napoli
Potential Suitors: Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Chelsea, P.S.G.
Potential Fee: £53 Million

In the 3 seasons Cavani has spent at Napoli he has really turned into a goal machine having scored 102 goals in 136 appearances in all competitions including goals against Manchester City and Chelsea in last seasons Champions League. These sort of consistent performances against some of the best clubs in the world saw Cavani listed 10th in the Guardian’s 100 best footballers in the world. The Napoli president and owner Aurelio De Laurentiis knows that demand is high and named his price, the eye watering £53 million buyout clause stated in Cavani’s contract. Arsenal have long been touted as having an interest but, if the De Laurentiis is true to his word it will take a serious change of transfer policy and loosening of the purse strings to see Cavani in an Arsenal shirt. I like the bookies see Cavani in light blue again next season, the light blue of Manchester City.
Most likely destination: Manchester City
